The simplest way to describe a trade show is a place for buyers to meet sellers. However, in many respects trade shows are a marketplace all to themselves, and definitely have their own language. Custom-built or shell scheme? Walk on package? PLI? Stand location? Sponsorship? A seemingly straightforward show can quickly become daunting to even seasoned exhibitors, let alone those trying this medium for the first time.

At Trade Show Training, we start by listening to you, and understanding your goals and your concerns; your strengths and your opportunities. Every business is different and every exhibitor is as well. We want your experience to be the best possible representation of you and your products.

How can we help?

Firstly

we can help you apply for the Business Events Grant. This grant provides up to $10k back if you have an eligible spend of $20k or more.
I charge $395 + GST and will take the pain out of it for you……and it is painful! Don’t get me started.

Secondly

we can work directly with exhibitors to help them get the best from their trade show participation…such as:

  • Helping you set goals and prepare for the show
  • Train you and your team on the tactics needed at the show to succeed
  • Accompany you to the show to either work on the stand with you and/or monitor the stand for most effective performance.
  • Finally

    for those of you that are restricted by travel rules or simply cannot get to a show, we can represent you at the show as part of our Exhibitor Body Double Program.

    …..and for Organisers and Associations, we can of course run group training sessions for your exhibitors. This can be done face to face or via Zoom (good if your exhibitors have a large geographic spread.

    About Russell McIntosh

    With 20 years in trade shows, including long stints at exhibition organisers Exhibitions & Trade Fairs (ETF) and Diversified Communications, I fully understand the opportunities that exist for exhibitors at a trade show.

    I’ve also had extensive experience on the inside of a trade show booth, exhibiting as part of my roles at leading foodservice equipment manufacturers, Meiko and EcoCanopy.  I’ve been there, I’ve manned the booth, and I know what it’s like from an exhibitors viewpoint.

    Exhibitors generally start with optimism and expectation. Some triumph, some merely cope, and some endure train wrecks. It pains me to think about all the time and money wasted by businesses that could have easily turned a trade show from awful, or just OK, to successful or even outstanding.

    I have an insider’s understanding of the trade show industry, and I’m well connected across the exhibition organiser network, having built and maintained a career’s worth of valued and valuable relationships.   I’m honest, down to earth and flexible.

    I have a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing from Monash University, and outside of work, my passions are my long-suffering wife and three young children. Oh, and my first love, basketball, which I still play regularly in defiance of the various body parts screaming for retirement.
